Why hotpipe vs manifold for wastegate actuator?

I'm relatively new to turbo Nissans, and I'm looking for a good explanation as to why folks tend to actuate the wastegate off the hotpipe instead of the intake manifold? Is it simply a matter of response time? 'Cause it seems like you'd get more accurate control at the manifold, especially when using a larger fmic that has some pressure drop to it... You're signaling the BOV fron the manifold. Boost gauges tend to run off the manifold. Hmmmmm...

Yes, it is.

So you're saying it's all about packaging? Or it's about quick response through a short tube?

I found a SAAB website showing their wastegate arrangement, and they reference manifold pressure. Several sites that explain the workings of wastegates, TONS of info on FD twin turbo setups (but they use a bleed system which is completely different.) Just nothing definitive on the SR. Do SR20's just respond that much better to the short circuit?

Sorry, I have a bad habit of digging for answers until I can explain it with physics Engineering education I guess...

Thanks

well manifold pressure is better cause if ur turbo boosts 7psi ur intake manifold is gonna c 6.5 if u have a psi drop of.5 cause of the interooler but thats the way i do it with external wastegates it should be the same for internal
