Turbo's and AR's, the perfect turbo...
Today I took the turbo off of my RB20 I'm prepping for my 240SX. Very disgusted to see a tiny exh turbine about 1.6" in diameter. The center section is a ball bearing water cooled unit. I'd like to retain this center and upgrade the wheels and housings, is this possible? It's not marked at all as to it's specs but it should be a T3 flanged T25 with a .48 AR on the exhaust. I'd like something in the 60's instead. The way I see it your turbo shouldn't spool all the time for street use. Like on the freeway if you turn 3600 at 70MPH, it'd be the best to have a larger turbo with a little lag, but one that doesn't start spooling up until you pass that speed. Power when you want it, mileage when you don't. Also where can the perfect turbo be found? Ebay has small ones like mine, and then monster T4's and T70's.

It is possible to upgrade the wheels and housings, call around to some companies and see what they can do!
If you were going along on the highway at 3600rpms, unless you were flooring it, you would not be boosting. It is always that way with a turbo. If you dont romp on it hard enough, you might not even get any boost from a standing start! First turbo car?

No, my last car was a Civic that I had a turbo on, the first was a RHB5 and it spooled really easy but choked the engine off big time, above 60 MPH and the guage showed boost. Then I went with a T3 from a Rotary engine and it was perfect, it would cruise at around 10 lbs vacuum then just touch the gas and boost.
