turbo ka engine

okay, i dont quite have my 240 but im counting the days till i wll have the money to buy one, which happens to be sept17.

but when it gets closer im looking into which mods i want to get, i dont want to swap engines but i want to turbo my ka engine. i was wondering how much boost a ka engine on stock internals could take, im aiming for 10 pounds until next year when i will get a 300zx and build my ka motor up.

anyways i want it safe boost, it will be my daily for a while so any ideas on how much boost it can take?

thanks for the help

I'm sure you can run 10lbs on stock internals, but expect some problems, if you want it to last longer try running around 6-8 psi it would last a little longer

10lbs is nothing bro... nothing at all.. check out the KA-t Section please.. your tune will kill you in the end. there will be no problems if you have it in order.. and by tune yes i even mean piggy backs.. dont go thinking standalone...

it will go when its ready lol and or when you neglect something.. i have buddies who have had KA-t' s last for 2-3 years with 10-15psi and lots of events.... turbo charged cars seems to be overrated ..... remember Volvo's came with turbos and lots of other economy type cars.. my KA-t setup went almost 2 years with no issues. the issue that i did have were not turbo related..

basically spark air and fuel have to be right... you may hear that its not reliable... but to be honest, its the user who is not reliable. also just use common sense, if your motor is smoking already... don't boost it...

hmmm not in that area.. i don't deal with shops at all and the only shop that i get things from is MidAtlantic Motor Sports.. simply the best at working on 240's

RedShift was hot in the VA area but went out of business.

okay and another question... how would a na motor stack up against a lightly boosted ka engine? im not sure what work i would be able to do other than head work and injectors?

i just love the sound of turboes, and it makes me thing a turboed would beat a n/a? and i deffo wont run nitrous on any car i will ever own. so that isnt a option if i would go with the stock n/a engine
