Question Stroker Kits SR20DET Redtop

Hey Guys, I have a question for all of you.

I'm going to be purchasing a SR20 Redtop engine and I want it to be able to handle up to 420hp. I want to up the displacement but im not sure on how i should do it. I have people saying to spend up too 6000 dollars on a new stroker kit. I really dont want to spend that much being how i dont have that much. So i guess the question is:

Does anyone know of a way to get a stroker kit or arrange the insides that will be capable up to 420hp without going insane on price?

Here is a 2.35L Stroker Kit for the SR......and its $2800.00.......

If i were you, and i'm not just saying this B/C i dont like SR's all that much, but i would just stay with the KA ( 2.4L ) and Turbo it if your wanting a Turbo Stroker Motor.....the KA-T can handle 420hp with No problem and will not cost you $6000 to do it.

yeah if you want 4 cylinder, high(ish) displacement and turbo, that's exactly what you'll get if you go ka-t, and like All Mighty said you can hit your power goal

Thanks guys, i was thinking the KA but my buddy hooked me up with a nice SR20 so i have the engine already. I would go KA but since i have an engine might as well go ahead and do it.

Thanks

Yes, you should replace your stock head gasket for a aftermarket one.........and since you got a good hookup with the SR you might as well go ahead and do want you want with it.........you dont need a stroker kit for the SR to hit 400HP.......just a few bolt on's ( GT30R or GT25R ) and a upgrade in Fuel/ Fuel management, intercooler and Exhaust and you should be good to go......

But if your really wanting a Higher Compression 2.0L SR and you have the money........then i say go for the Stroker Kit........anyways....good luck............
