Actually... most people say the stock fuel system is safe to about 4psi. 7psi with a rising rate fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pump.

As for 9-10 psi on the stock ECU... I've run 12 for a week with no probs (till I started surging to 14psi in 5th gear, and did 14psi more than a few times). I've got a hacked MAF and 370's with an itty bitty snail (TD05-12B). Stock ECU, rail, and fpr.

the claim is it's the $900 turbo setup. Runs 9psi daily, and autocrosses/ drifts 3 - 4 times a month.

I believe that is what he did...

I would note SOHC as listed in the description above. This is obviously a KA24E. The pictures of his set up is fairly clean. I would suggest you check it out.

I got the 370's off the Classifieds on Freshalloy.com, from someone who upgraded the injectors on their SR.

My manifold is actually for a T3 turbine, but it was custom made with weld els so I really could've used a TD05 flange if I wanted. I started out with a TD05 off of a Volvo, which has a custom turbine housing with slightly modified T3 flanges, that once ground down, become perfect T3 flanges.

Some of the parts have been deemed unnecessary... and some things could've been done cheaper. The list also includes parts that aren't necessarily "turbo kit" related, but necessary for the install.

what kind of turbo lag are all of you experiencing? does it progressively kick in or does it hit all at once? also, what kind of durability are you getting out of the ka once it's turbo'd. is this the type of project car that can can not be counted on as a daily driver or does it continue to be low maintenance?

Well, I'm running a straight T3 so its a much smaller turbo than probably most KA-T's are running. But, I start to spool pretty good at around 2600rpm. It pulls pretty well all the way through redline. Turboing the KA means a lot of money spent in fuel mods. The factory fuel system sucks..hence..detonation. I have Nismo 370cc inj, SARD fpr, and a walbro fuel pump. I've never had a problem with the motor. A bad clutch install that I later had to fix, but thats all thats happened. Good strong motor, looking to rebuild it with some forged parts. Oh, I dont recomend running much more than 11psi...trust me on this one..

so far i dont have a 240 but i want something with over 200whp and under 3000lbs. not a lot of options. the more i think about turboing a ka the more tempting it gets. i still need to drive one to see how the handling feels though.

my setup has no lag. the turbo might be equivolent to a T25.

my setup is very progressive. my friend's car is the complete opposite. with a T4 it hits all at once.

the car needs to be maintained pretty well and fairly often, mostly because the manifold and downpipe are home made. With a more experienced welder I don't think I'd be popping up leaks as much (if at all). Just make sure to change oil regularly, always check your hoses and lines, and it should be fine assuming the setup was installed correctly and you bought components in decent condition.

my car is a daily driver. i average about 90 miles per day (not an exaggeration).
