staggered wheels?

does a 240 benefit from staggering wheel sizes... say for ex. 7in in front and 8-8.5in out back?

if you run a 215 up front and a 235 in the rear your car will under steer before it oversteers... a good thing IMO.. safer for the streets. i had 195's in the front of my coupe and 215's in the back and when i would accelerate coming out of a corner it would just stick like a **** but now that i have 205's all around it oversteers in the same situation.

well yeah, but performance-wise, does staggering give more grip?

well, obviously wider tire in the rear = more grip in the rear... that is, if the suspension is setup right to take advantage of the wider tires. The stagger is for high powered cars. Nowadays it's become more for looks (a stock KA does not require the need for staggered tires).

grip has more to do with compound than how wide it is

True you could have a 355 POS on the rear and it will grip like a POS. Stagger is more asthetics that anything.

So Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari, and all them other cars that come staggered from the factory don't do it for a purpose? Cmon now.

LOL I agree with the POS tire comment, but even a POS 355 in the rear will outgrip a POS 175 up front

OKay so we agree staggering helps benefit handling. With the proper tire. And AND looks nice as well. Right?
