Re-drilled rotors?

I looking to do a possible 300zx big-brake upgrade. Im a 4 lug and don't exactly have the cash for a 5 lug conversion. I see these tutorials on the upgrade and some of the say to take the zx rotors to a machine shop to get redrilled for a 4 lug pattern. Is this smart/safe? All input is appreciated.

it's completely fine. you can also order them blank if you want. you'll have to search for that though.
