hand brake help
i was comin home today and when i started drivin home today and put my hand brake down but my hand brake light didnt turn off so i was like WTF? so do u guys know what the problem might be? thanx in advance

was the hand brake still engaged? cuz if not then it was probably just a fuse. But if it was then well.... you probably shouldn't have been driving around town like that, but it could be a problem with the linkage, but more then likely probably just a fuse. Or did you check your brake lights? Maybe one is burned out. That happened on my old car.

let me go check really quickly right now, my hand break was down all the way so i know that...
i check my lights all of them were working but i dont have any needle nose plyers to check my fuse and which one whould it be?

well i dont know what the problem is because today i drove my mom to work and the brake light was on but the hand brake was down. and then when i left from there the brake light turned off when i dropped her off. and then i stoped at circuit city and when i left from there it turned back on so its confusing me do any of u guys know what is going on?

my mechanic said that the break was engaged while i was driving when my hand brake was down and now its doing the samething again. i probably think its linkage can anyone help me out with this or tell me how i can fix this?

Did you ever check the fluid? I have a leaking piston and mine comes up when the fluid is low. If I make a hard turn the remaining fluid (low as it is) will hit the sensor and turn off the light.
Do you know your mechanic well?
There is really no physical linkage to the ebrake on a stock 240. There is a spring and a small arm. That is connected to the cable on your handle.
If you linkage were hung up you would smell burnt break pads. They would constantly wear on your rotors. Check to see if they are low.
Check your rims for excess break dust.
