whats the advantage of 60 over 65? i was wondering because i can pick up 4 winter tires for 50$ from my friend who used them for one season on a 1994 bmw 325i
what does the 65 stand for exactly?

i know the first numbers is the width in mm
the last is the tire size
letter is the speed rating
missing the last one

I forgot ur up north and get a lot of snow. The 65 would actually be better for you because of the snow. the 65 stands for the Aspect Ratio - Percentage of tread width that equals the sidewall height.

yeah so...numerically speaking...

205/65/15 65 = 65% of 205mm

The advantage is, your car will sit about 10.25mm higher on 65 tires compare to 60 tires. So you have a bit less chance to be stuck in snow.

On the same note, disadvantage is that the taller sidewall will flex more during hard cornering. Basic tire aspect ratio stuff, no worries if you're dealing with snow, and not curves

Well, I sort of on the same boat. But I have the 93 seven spoke alloy, stock is i believe 195/60-15. . As far as I know, 205/60-15 would be safe, but what do you guys think of 205/55-15 or even 205/50-15? ?

I think 50 might be pushing it too much, cost problems here and there. . . I'd like to hear you guys' suggestions! =)
