tint problem

I have 20% tint on all the windows except the windshield. the problem is the tint is wearing away. i don't have money to retint it so i was wondering if i could just remove the tint from the door windows and leave the quarter windows and rear windows alone and it still look good? or should i remove it all the way around?

You could do either. If it all looks like ****, get out your razorblades and get that scrubby lookin tint off.

it may look good. what i did was remove everything but the rear window. some razorblade scrappers and windex will get most of it off. try starting from a corner and peel very slowly diagonally and you should be able to get most of it off in one piece.

be carefull. if you dont do it right you could mess up your defogers.( the wire that runs acros the rear window) you should first try to use a portable steamer like the ones you see in the commercials.

ammonia in a spray bottle. For the back window cut a black garbage bag to the shape of the window. Spray the tint down the the ammonia, use the dampness of the tint and ammonia to hold the garbage bag to the window. Park it with the sun on the back window let it sit for like 10-15 min, take of the garbage bag and the tint will basicly fall off, just keep it moist with ammonia. side windows should be the same. I did it like that, didnt take much time at all. Clean up with windex or some kind of window cleaner and your good to go.
