Okay, let me explain to AZdrifter. Imagine if the red 240 had 295's? wouldn't hit the fender flares??? hmmmm. Okay now imagine if he put 8" wide rims with 205's under that fat *** flares....that **** would look like a spaceship. The reason poeple stretch there tires is because they need to fit them under there fenders with out rubbing and keep it looking flush. Also its looks sex. Its part of the offset/hellaflush movement.

also most of the drift cars are still running like a 245 tire, imo thats not small...drifting isnt about having an assload of power, its about being able to slide your car faster, better, and with more angle than your opponent....

not to mention if you have 500hp whether you have 245 or 325 they are gona get smoked the **** out of neways...so why not rock a stiffer sidewall, a hottwer look, and a cheaper way out?

if u actually drift then u would understand..

to anyone that has stretched tires i have to ask if there is any damage being done to the tire or if there is a higher risk of a blow out.

it might just be me but that 240 that the ts is talking about seems like it's riding in the side wall.

UNFORTUNATLY, this guy is totally right, i have no actual experience in anything, so Im just going on what i have read. But yeah, I didnt mean to offend anyone by calling them cheaters or anything. Um, the whole fitment thing: it seems to me that either 1: get smaller rims so they fit, or 2: dont take the cheap way out and get smaller tires, make those ****ers fit in there. Fit the car to the wheel, not the wheel to the car, Right??? Pretty much like i said before, it is just a matter of opinion, some like them some don't. I dont like the look, but you do. Its all good!

I like a mild stretch.... nothing like that dumbass looking lip that was sticking like half an inch past the tire.

It also helps you get a better feel of the transition from gripping to sliding. If not done right (mounted correctly), you can have problems. Some tires will not stretch due to how they're made either.

Reasons why people stretch tires

-Cheaper

-Stiffer sidewall

-Clearance

If people stretch them too far it just looks stupid though. I like enough stretch for enough clearance.
