WHY do people do it??? Do people really think it looks cool??? There is NO point to it!!! You might as well put the biggest tires you can fit on it to get traction right??? When I see a car with stretched tires i automatically think that person must be retarded or something. tell me what you think about 195 tires on 12 inch rims(ok, a little exageration)...

 

a pic of what your talking about would help make a case for your argument. i mean your talking about 195/60/15(12" wide) and not something like 195/75/12 or so right?


oh yah, i kinda like them because i makes the car look wider and lower. it's kind of like a fat guy wearing a striped shirt. vertical strips make himt least look thiner where as horizontal stripes make him look fatter.

Well, if you drift, traction is kinda an on off thing, with a smaller contact patch, its easier to burn with less tire, unless all you do is drag race FTL.

from what i hear there is this concept where wide wheels look ****ing dope. and fitting wide wheels on a car is a little hard without making the car look gay. i guess you get the jaquemond kit or whatever and you could put 500/60/17 tires on a 13 inch wheel, but then your car would look gay anyways.

yeah i guess i should change my name! Little tires for drifting seems like cheating to me, get big tires, and big horsepower and do it right haha. I guess it just comes down to opinion, some people like the look and others don't. personally, i think it is just a waste of money, if your going to put 235 tires on your 11''s, just get 8"s and save a grand. but whatever floats your boat i guess...are there any safety issues with stretching though???
