I drove an hour and a half to check out a shop that advertises a lot of good parts. The owner drives a swapped 240sx daily and races a boosted integra.

They had 4 front end shells empty from swaps and had a black top waiting for a swap.

He was thinking of doing the right hand conversion because he liked difficult jobs.

They were also working on a geo metro with a MR2 supercharged heart. Strange to see a motor in the bay facing the wrong way.

Most of the pieces are spot welded to the firewall. He can either cut and reweld OR cut the whole wall off and apply it to the swapped car. It doens't look like it will be easy either way.

i can't help but shake my head when i hear cats say "just weld it on". cuz with as hard as 240's beg to be driven we all know they'd end up like Master P's car in Gone In 60 Seconds

take a look in your engine bay on the passanger side where the steering colum "would" be...... see that dimple? thats what i'm talkin bout.

don't think that when we meet up in the spring that my car will be RHD cuz me and this cat be battlin. just tryin to make things clear for the un-openminded.

as for importin cars to the US did ya'll peep the links?

not that easy.........??????????

its all love though

There might be a dimple but looking at the front clips he had there I was able to see that there would be a lot more work then just cutting a dimple and laying a steering column in.

You have brake lines, windshield washer motor, steering rack and all accompaning parts.

dont get me wrong here. I never said it would be easy. but easier then tryin to import something. and more cost effective for the "do it yourselffer" type. the good thing about a conversion like that is you have the original clip to use as refernce from. alot of work but if/when its done you could smile big put it on ebay for like $20 sumthing grand and get a GTS

I say go for it. Odd that someone mentioned problems lining it up...since the motor was built for rhd... I plan on doing it to mine as soon as we pluck the motor. And imagine that, I have all the parts right there with my clip.

i knew i shouldn't have edited my post...because i had an answer..then i thought hard like you told me to and realized my stuff wasn't aftermarket.

anyway. tail lights and turn signals don't effect the way you drive a car. well, i guess you might drive a little bit more careful. i guess. i haven't yet. i didn't buy them to be all mad tyte jdm stylez. i bought them cuz they look better. and looking better makes my car faster. haha.

then here goes: you can make your car right hand drive so you can more resemble a real 180sx/silvia/whatever to complement ur jdm motor

-or-

since most ppl are right handed, it makes a decent amount of sense to keep ur dominant hand on the wheel.
