Yes, I do my own paint (only done it once so far though) and not only does clear coat help make everything shiney, but it also gets rid of SMALL (no big/drastic) imperfections. Also in my opinion wet sanding is well worth it, makes your ride look soooo sweet and shiney and smooth, There is an independent guy that I have do mine, he charges $300 to comes out to my house and do it all right there in one day.

oh ok cool. but since the paint lines that i can see are in the black paint, shouldnt i wet sand that first? and then clear? i would think that if i clear over it, i wont be able to get down to it when sanding unless i sand through the clear?

i mean ive only painted it black so far. sanded it, primed it, sanded again, then black. and you can see the stroke marks where i painted. ive painted a lot of stuff before and never had it look like this. ill have to get pics tomorrow, it poured rain here today and still is
