Painting Interior
Ok, so I was taking a look at my baby yesterday and thought about painting some of my interior (select areas). My car is a bluish/green color with the interior (dash, etc) black. So I wanted to know what you guys thought about it.
And if so, what color, and what kind of paint? Thanks.

IMO painting the dash is very ugly, especially when it is just the trim peices. If your dash is in good shape i say keep it the way it is, otherwise if it is cracked or sumthin take it to an opolstry shop to have it redone. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION

i put mink fur on my dash, it helps keep **** in place on the dash like cigs lighters among other things. plus cut holes in the mink fur and stick blacklights in em so they stick out thru the fur or something, that's what i did. my dash looked ugly, so why not cover it.

I'm thinking about getting my dash done, but I just wanna get it black (like the darkest black) because mine is a little faded and it has a little ring on it ( I think they had a little stick on air freshener on it for a long *** time) and is ugly

Alright
Speaking from experience, painting of the dash isn't the greatest idea. I spent hours and got obsessed with painting my 5th gen celica and it looked sharp. However most people find themselves going overbaord. If you are going to do it, in my opinion it should only be done to cover fading. A black color could look good if it flows with the car.
Remember a few things if you decide to paint.
1. MAKE 100% sure you wanna do this, there's no turning back!
2. Clean the surface WELL, cloth, maybe even a very light sandpaper
3. PRIMER is your friend! if you don't primer it will bubble after several months like mine did, making you get all of the paint off that section (if you just paint over where the bubbles were it won't be flat, you'll notice lines) and start over, a real pain in the ***
4. paint in LONG even lengths, and you're better off going light coats that thick coats that could have runs in it. Bause the paint is so think it doesn't stick well 3 dimensionally at all. Do 2-3 layers or until you see fit
5. Find a clear coat finish. This will help prevent from scratches, which are your enemy. If you get a bad scratch you'll have to sand off the whole piece and do it again.
Like I said, looked good, however i'm not gonna do it in my s13, looks too bold and in my opinion goes against the clean black look in my car. If you're painting to make it look simple and clean though, I'd say go for it.

Hey, thanks everybody for their help. Here's a picture of my Frat Brother's Eclipse that he painted last week. He offered to help me out. What do you guys think?

Yeah, definitely NOT trying to go rice. And I appreciate all your feedback but I think I'm gonna go ahead and do it. My 240 is actually my first car ever and I want to make it stand out....tastefully. Besides, it gives me something to do while I wait for my suspension parts straight from Japan. Its nice to have a friend who owns a GT-S and can grab parts for you around Hitachi City...
Thanks again fellas!
