May be building a budget dirft/show car....Is this any good?

powered by max, $1000. Thats the coilovers you want. 750 for used wheels with a low enough offset that will complement the widebody and you're 4 lug? Youre dreaming bro.
Swap the motor.
Get a freshish KA for about $400, Coilovers/Rucas $1180. Wheels $1200. If its going to be a drift only car, go get an exhaust done at a shop. $Cheap If you really want a body kit, $1000.
Now save some more get paint. Or dont, once you drift your bodykit will become mashedpotatoes anyway.

That car is sold...its okay, it was in pretty bad shape.
The reason I mentioned widebody is because that car had a lot of dents, mainly on the fenders. I figured if I'm replacing the fenders, why not go wide.
I'm leaning more towards a show car than a drift car. (I don't know how to drift anyways, and there aren't many places around here to do it.)
I want something that looks nice and is fun to drive. Don't need too much power, thats what the C32 is for.
This one looks pretty nice: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/car/550477952.html
Great mileage for a 15 year old car...and I love the Hatchbacks
After I replace the cylinder head ($300-400) I can drive it and slowly do some mods.
-I'd like a clean, subtle kit like this: http://www.raceonusa.com/index.asp?P...OD&ProdID=6150
-Prep/Paint after I install the bodykit...shouldn't be more than $1000. I'd stick with the origional color, maybe slightly different shade. Just don't want to paint the engine bay...
-Then drop...maybe Godspeed Coilovers: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GODSP...spagenameZWDVW
-Then a universal muffler...something like Apex N1, Megan or HKS shouldn't be more than $150
-For wheels, I always liked gold on a white car. These are pretty affordable:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-7-...mZ150173283218
-Tinted windows...$150
By the way...this is the picture that has inspired me to want to build a S13 hatch

seems like a good plan but there are some flaws let me point them out so u wont get a major head ache later on when u have to deal with it.
first the body kit, most everyone knows here that Raceonusa sucks. horrible quality products, over priced and dont follow up with items in many cases.
second the coil overs yes those "godspeed" coils may be cheap but then again they are cheap. With coil overs its best to know with reputable brands. you can get decent coils for $800-1000 i recommend
- KTS coilovers http://www.splparts.com/main4/main/default.htm
- Stance http://www.stance-usa.com/sport_apps.php
- Megan Racing http://www.meganracing.com/products/...d=317&catid=93
also the last flaw i see are the wheels since i dont know if you about wheel sizing im going to assume you dont. the wheels you showed are sized for a front wheel drive car the 240sx is a rwd entry level sports car it can fit way more aggressive offset wheels.
You want a Show car right well having the right offset on your wheels can mean the difference of your car being a bad *** looking car to a piece of **** ricer lol
see how the wheels look in that pic u got well they look that way because of their offset, they are Work Meister SP3 18x9 +0 most likely just assuming by looking at them. 0 offset on most wheels on s13 look good imo
just research more on what you want and what you can afford and you will be happy in the end that you researched instead of jumping the gun i know from experience.
just my 2 cents good luck man i hope your 240 comes out bad ***

I have KW V2 on the C32 now, but it seems too expensive for a budget car. maybe TEIN Basics...I've used those before the KW V2
anyone know if Origin Lab kits fit any good?
also, these wheels look like they will be pretty flush with the fenders: http://storesense.megawebservers.com...oss/Detail.bok

yea the elite wheels would fit decent with +15 offset
origin makes good stuff
tein basics are ok for a showcar but u can get megans for the same price i just showed you the megan official site
heres a better priced set
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NIB-M...spagenameZWDVW
side note:
megans go lower then the tein basics because of they way the are designed

Stances can go even lower. Stay the hell away from the Tein Basics. They dont come with a camber plate and nearly as good for the money as Stance/Megan/KTS/K Bee/Max.
And really, a full catback is worth the money. Why bother with a fart can if all you're putting it on for is the noise.

okay here check this out.
$4000.
wants to build show car.
i would buy the car - average 240 nowadays is like what $1500?
buy that BN knockoff full aero and overs. - $750
wheels - $2500 something around (F) 18x10 -20 (R) 18x13 - 30
you're already past your limit by $750.
from there i suppose you could remove your springs completely from your struts for a proper ride height, and scrounge for some 255/40/18s and 275/40/18s.
OR
car - $1500
you can buy coilovers $1100
15" wheels with tires $500
steering wheel - $100
bucket seat - $300
welded diff - $50
thats $3550 so far...
exhaust and intake - $200
$3750
spend the other $250 on gas, oil, other maintenance ****.
you can't build a show car for $4000, you can, however, build a fun car for $4000.

I'm back!
after a year, I decided to buy a 240sx hatch. 1990, 150k miles, blown head gasket on the KA24E. Got it for $560. Body has a ton of dents, but its fixable. Bought a KA24DE with 87k on it for $400 with 5spd, I'm in the middle of the swap now. Car came with TEIN springs and KYB shocks, new brakes, cat-back exhaust. Got a harness and ECU, need a few more parts before the swap is done. Car will need new fenders and bumper.
