HID's or Not in my S14

I was thinking of getting an HID system for my 1998 S14 Kouki. I have terrible night visibility and I was pondering on the 6000K HID system from McCulloch. I already have a 8000K H4 dual beam hid kit on my impreza but that is too blue and want something more white on my S14.

I think 6000K would be best. I plan on getting them at www.hidplace.com

what do you guys think?

anything other than 4300k is disgusting. your halogen headlamps are not designed to accomodate hid burners, if you must have hids please do not invest in a taiwanese made rebased kit that will last only a couple months, spend the time reading up on retrofitting in d2s projectors on hidplanet or get in touch with me. there are no pros to a kit other than the quick install time.
if you like the blue "flicker" effect that you see on oem hid systems then a retro is the way to go, kits only immulate this with their obnoxious constant blue color.

That is my impreza. I've had that McCulloch 8000K HID kit for 3 years now. I got it from hidplace.com They are not fake taiwanese kits. 3 years ago i really liked the blue look and that is why i bought these. never had a problem. These are actually straight from japan.

yes you do have a problem. you put hid burners in halogen headlamps and you are basically driving around with blue *** high beams all the time, your beam pattern is non-existant. not to mention 8000k produce about the same number of lumens as halogen 3200k bulbs

i used lexus rx330 projectors with 300zx clear lenses to enhance the sharpness and color intensity of the cutoff line

I used a McCulloch HID kit as my first upgrade into high output lighting. I got the one rated at 12,000k but the light was really a bright white with traces of purple. Bulbs where not tinited but a balast went out on me after 10 months, luckly I was able to get a replacement under warrenty, just had to pay the $20 for shipping.

If you want a kit I suggest you try and source on of the catz kits thoose are top notch or m-tec as you can find those easier and the quilaty appears to be the same so far.

Well if you are just throwing lights into stock housing chances are they wont look as good as if you are retro fitting projector lamps into the headlamps for better beam pattern.

The issue I was talking about was the quailty of SOME aftermarket hid kits but improper installation will still make or break a good lighting system.
