Well I put the cage into day and then went to the Hobby shop to Fab up my rear plates. Took about 45 min to get the cage into the car completely.

After I got done with the cage.. I took the car out for a spin.. Car is much much stiffer. I did some aggressive figure 8's

other than stiffening the chassis i don't see the point in a bolt in cage. if you flip, chances are the cage with just pierce the floor board and have no use.

i recently saw pictures of a flipped mustang, roll cage didn't do ****.

1) Revisit your mustang picture and see if you see mounting plates on both sides mounted to highly structural frame points.

2) A welded cage is welded to the body on top of junction boxes... its not like they are laying down NASA grade metal when they weld to the body. If your chassis is weak that location it will buckle no matter what method you use.

3) I don't plan on rolling and I could careless.. I installed this so that I could enter MSC and D1SL events. Bolt in is legal.

Nothing but truth in this post. The reason the cage failed is because they didn't bolt the cage in properly. A properly bolted in cage (using plates to sandwich the body with grade 5 or better bolts) will be just as strong as a weld-in in most cases and you can also weld your own custom door bar in place.

D1 allows it, so I've been heavily considering it. Unless it just proves cheaper to go with a weld-in, I won't see any reason not to.
