Did a bit more smoothing:
The driver's side with a 40-grit pass:
Thin coat of filler/ resin mix and 80-grit sanding on the passenger side:
After doing the same for the driver's side, it's all hand sanding.

So how do you ensure that both sides are the same size? Or do you just play it by eye as far as how much they portrude?
