Yeah 95's had alot of options for the Base they took away in the 96's such as the 6-Speaker Audio system.

This does not disrupt the integrity, or change it as a modification since it is included as an OEM standard application.

I bought an LE s14 that came with 4 lug, power windows and VLSD from factory this does allow me to participate in scca, the only true difference in LE and SE options is interior, luxury options such as leather seats, 5 lug, ABS, and power windows.
Ah I forgot about the LE, from what I read the ABS and VLSD were options on the LE and SE only , not on the base model. Therefore if that is hte case you could not install a VLSD in a base model in ST class.

I'll check into it this afternoon for you man

Anyway, back to the build, I had a great time in Tucson yesterday, there pad is bigger than ours so speeds were higher than I'm used to but also way fun and it gave me a bit of an advantage as the 240 is one of the highest HP cars in ST class (I'll post a video later). Also, I've decided REALLY need to concentrate on myself as a driver and tuning in the suspension a little more to make it perfect, therefore there will be no new parts for the next couple months, sorry , but I'll make sure to post plenty of pics and videos as I'll be doing 2 events each month instead of one all the way through April because I'll be doing both Tucson and Phoenix this spring now every month.

So, if anyone wants to talk about driving technique or suspension tuning let the discussion begin...

Thanks for looking into that. I've seen ppl do 5 Lug swaps and get in but I just dont want to get flagged for it or something though I am planning to stay 4 Lug Just for the Wheels in that offset unless I can find a better reason.

Also whats your susp. Set-up?
How much power you think your putting down?
Also your allowed to use Nistune as it still uses the stock ECU housing. I'm pretty sure you can pick up another 10whp easy if not more with a good tune.

Ok, I have your answer. Basically if you want a certain thing that was offered in a certain "trim" than you have to get EVERYTHING that was standard in that trim. So, since 5-lug was offered on the SE you will have to have/get everything that was standard on the SE (IIRC sunroof and AC).

Now you mentioned other people getting in with the 5-lug swap, nobody really checks, unless you start to win and then there is a good chance someone will challenge your car if they think you have an illegal mod. If that is the case, then you kind of carry a black mark around with you for a long time, and lots of people are going to keep an eye on you and your car. So it's just plain easier, better, and more fun if you follow all the rules

As far as suspension goes I've got KW coilovers ( I chose these because they come very highly recommended from several national level drivers I know and you can adjust compression and rebound independently of each other, and they were cheaper than a GC/Koni setup), some camber bolts (running -3.0 in the front, -2.0 in the rear) stock sway bars (have some bigger ones but haven't put them on yet), and I'm unsure about putting on strut tower bars yet (I've heard stories that they help, and other stories that they are just dead weight), and a VLSD. I play with the rebound and compression on the shocks all the time, and I also play with my alignment settings too to see what works the best, and its slowly becoming perfect

As far as power mods go all I have are s13 cams, and my own custom built intake and exhaust. I need to build my own header because nobody makes an ST legal one (cat must remain in stock location), and I also need an underdrive pulley and then a tune like you said. As of now I have a great tuner guy here in Phoenix that does rom tunes, and I may get that, but I haven't looked into it much yet. As far as the power I'm putting down right now I really couldn't tell you. I have noticed an increase with all the mods mentioned above but I couldn't give you a number. Once I'm finished with power mods and have the tune though I'm hoping to break 170whp.

I see

As for the STB's you would notice the effect more with your suspension now then you would have w/ your stock springs and such because now that the springs are stiffer that transfers more energy towards the body thus causing the towers to bow in ever so slightly but does.
What kinds of Sways do you have?

As for my exhaust i'm gonna use my eGay header and have a custom DP made with a 3" Magnaflow Cat (P# 91706)

I got some tanabe sway bars for free from a friend, they are 1/8" bigger than stock.

As for your exhaust, I was kind of thinking of doing that same thing, I don't suppose you have a pic of that cat you are looking at? (wondering if its got the triangles at the end so it bolts right to the exhaust manifold). Unforunately there is no way to make a 4-2-1 header ST legal, so it will have to be a 4-1 header. Also, any idea where you will have your custom downpipe made and how much it will cost?

Oh nice. I'm gonna run a Tanabe Front w/ Stock Rear.

And sorry I put the wrong P# it's 91076
It's a Weld in CAT so no flanges...
I'm in the process of looking for a reputable shop here cause all the "Custom" exhaust shops here have very ****ty welds and fitment so I might be paying a little more then usual which I dont mind. I may even throw a Flex section in there just to keep things from cracking if the exhaust does encounter something while Daily Driving.

Ah ok, I think I'm going to go with this cat simply because it's the smallest one I could find:

http://www.car-sound.com/02product/u...al/500spun.asp

And then weld the triangles to it so that it bolts up, and either make my own downpipe or have one made (anyone know where I can buy those little exhaust triangles???)

Summit has them I believe for pretty cheap. There called 3 Bolt Exhaust Flanges...
Main reason I chose that was for the 3"

This is the correct one you will want. http://www.car-sound.com/02product/d...niversal=46005

FYI on all aftermarket cats you have to weld the flanges on them.

As long as the CEL is off and he passes he should be fine right?

And not all CATs need flanges, the Random Tech and Cat-Co ones come w/ flanges.

The 4 rules for a cat in ST class:

Must be of OE type, quantity, and location.

And yes, it must pass emissions.

And Vinnie - your link shows no product on the page

Well I'm gonna do the custom DP anyway and see what happens at Tech.

Hi guys, sorry for being so idle, my computer decided to get some nasty virus and I had to have the whole thing restored and redone so I was out of a computer for over a week (life is very different without internet ). Anyway, here is the video from the autox in Tucson, AZ I did in January. There pad definitely has less grip but on the up side its bigger and in my opinion more fun (at 0:44 in the video I'm at 60mph redlining in 2nd). My time was a 67.687 (much longer than our ~45 sec courses here in Phoenix) with a score of 923, 5th out of 8 in class, 22nd out of 45 over all (UGH!!! it would seem I am destined to stay mid-pack ). Stiffened up the compression and rebound on the front and rear and it seemed to have helped some, I also raised the car 1/4" for more shock travel as I think I am hitting the bump stop's on the elevation changes.

Also, I think I'm going to have 1 or 2 of the "pros" ride with me again, I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong and get out of this stupid mid-pack plateau.

The video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUSKA7j6zqQ

Also, we just had our Phoenix, AZ event last Sunday, I'll post up the video tomorrow about that.

So I'm afraid the camera did something weird to the videos from the Feb. Phoenix event and I can't upload them to the internet. so here are a few pics. I score a 906 with a time of 38.760, 4th out of 6 in class (mid pack again ), 36th out of a 104 over all. I'm going to try a couple different driving tactics at the next event and see what happens with them, I'm tired of this mid-pack crap.
