Just a little update, I put some new spring rates on the front (450lb) and moved the old front springs to the rear (so rear's are now 340lb, used to be 250lb). Hopefully the stiffer springs will allow less body roll. The new springs are almost 1 inch shorter too (2 inches shorter in the back) I adjusted the height accordingly, but there still looks like there will be less shock travel than before, but then again I shouldn't need as much shock travel with stiffer springs. We'll find out when I hit the track again Jan 10th.

Also, the new springs in the front are slight larger in diameter, and therefore are now like 1/8 of an inch from the tire in the front, and I think they actually rub when I corner hard. Because of that, and the fact that I'd like to add another 1.5 degrees of negative camber I went ahead and ordered some 15mm bolt-on spacers from "Powered by Max" here: http://www.gtfactory.jp/cms/page.php?10

So fitment should look better too

So not to beat this thing to death but whats the verdict on the "CAT" situation? Or am I stuck w/ a Stock Down Pipe or Custom?

That all depends on what class you want to in. Do you want to be in Street Touring like me? Or stay in Stock? Or move up to Street Prepared or even Street Modified??? Tell what mods you already have and I'll tell you what class you would be in and what the rules are there pertaining to the cat and down pipe.

AS far as a cat goes in ST, the rules says the cat must be "of OE type, quantity, and location". This means you could go with a custom header and downpipe, but the cat must stay in the exact stock location, and the stock type (no test pipes or high flow cats) and you can only use 1 (no converting 1 cat to 2, or 2 cats to 1, this isn't a problem for the 240 though).

This is actually the exact problem I am facing now, as no one makes an aftermarket header/downpipe for the 240 that keeps the cat in the stock location. I am looking at ordering parts and welding one up myself, as that seems it is my only solution in ST.

Well I found a 2.5" TWC w/ the same bend that our stock one has.
Magnaflow P# 91076 (Look for HottExhaust.com)

I would think as long as it works and it keeps the check engine light off you should be good.
Also I would think the second cat could be removed considering that it's not monitored correct?

As long as that magnaflow mounts in the same location as the stock one, yes it would work. And yes, the second ct on the 240 can be removed because it isn't exactly a true cat (I forget exactly what it is, but I researched once and its not a true cat, and you are right, its not monitored).

Now, the problem I ran into is do you know of a header and downpipe that will mount to that magnaflow cat???

On a separate subject: race is tomorrow, I'm excited to see what the new spring rates and more camber bring to the table

I'm kinda dumb founded on your question. The Magnaflow will have to be welded in so in turn there is no OTS downpipe you can buy that will bolt to the Magnaflow, nor would I chance trying to buy one to cut and weld as they may not have the same bend angles.

As for the manifold it's gonna be hard because you need to keep the EGR function, I have an eBay Tuning Pro's Manifold but it was a 1st Gen so I have the EGR port, now they have moved to the MR design which rid's the EGR system to keep costs down.

but an Option that you do have is a custom EGR Pipe or EGR port being made/welded on to the Manifold.

Hmm good point, I could just get rid of the EGR, but then again that might not be ST legal. I'll have to check into it more.

It's not, it states "ANY" Emission device/system. Then says so the car can be driven anywhere in the country legally.

I think I found your solution:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EGR-C...Q5fAccessories

Drill a hole and Weld that to the eBay mani, thats exactly what mine looks like. Only thing is I had to bend my pipe because of placement. I'll get pics later today. You can also try an S13 EGR pipe and see where that puts it, might be easier then using the S14 Pipe.

You can't drive it in Arizona, California, Oregon , or Washington with an egr cap, it is not considered legal for car registration and smog.
