24e to 24de Progress
Some of you know I wrecked my '91, and bought a '90 with a blown ka24e and auto tranny. Well, it's been sitting in my driveway for about 3 months now, so I decided to start swapping it out. Here's some pics of my progress so far. To this date, we have swapped the power sterring lines and resovoir, clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder (doing a 5 speed swap too), removed ac unit, clutch pedal, brake pedal, engine harness, ecu, body harness connector, and transmission harness, and we just dropped the engine and tranny in last night, but haven't started connecting hoses and such yet. In these pics though, we only got to the wiring and ecu step. Enjoy.

Here's a sad one, side by side, both gutted...
Even sadder, showing the damage a little better...
Still sadder, look at the pillar, that's why It's not worth it to repair the red one
Check out the dash, its cracked so bad. The heater box on the passenger side shattered too in the collision. I also bent my steering column.
1 hour later, the door is pryed off with a iron rod, a sludge hammer, and latter (which we found out to be a better, and quicker option) a 10mm socket... maybe we should have thought it thourgh better, lol.
The door is pretty messed up too.
We pulled the whole wiring harness out with the ecu, instead of cutting it at the firewall, and butte-ing them all back in place :P.
Dustin checking out the clutch resovoir assembly, tomorrow, that get's swapped.
Dustin started getting a little frustrated near the end of the day...
There's mah new baby, lookin a little better, and gettin one step closer to complete.
They aren't members on this board, but I just wanted to thank Ian (my bro) and Dustin for being such great helps on the motor swap, I wouldn't have even been close to this far by now if they weren't helping out.

Yeah it is sexy isn't it. That's my brother's dime, payed $500 for the shell, and swapped the l16 crate motor (which my dad bought for his bulletside pickup in the '95) and swapped it in, not done with the wiring, but it will essentially be a clean $500 dime coupe when he finishes it. He's puttin my old 240 seats in it soon, unless he can find clean oem seats. Thanks for the props . This is my first swap, and I am thankful that everything is going so smoothly. The only thing that went wrong was that when the engine got pulled, a bolt snagged on the mount, and seperated the rubber from the metal, so I had to use the motor mounts out of the 24e, I hope they are the same, lol. Seem to be though.
