Arrow [custom A/c Panel!]

Hey everyone, new to the scene here.. but an avid customizer on the rise... had a question about the A/C Control...

Does anyone happen to know if it's a simple wiring connection between operations or is it operated by computer/chip ?...

The reason I ask...

I want to take out my stereo/a/c controller/shelf out of the center console, and replace it with a touchscreen dvd/cd player. [Also replacing the original cluster gauge with a custom built one]. But what I wanted to do is minimize the a/c controlls to say.. On/Off - Low/High - Hot/Cold... assuming it's just wiring, I can run relays/switches to 3 switches instead of having a clunk [and ugly] unit in the dash.

Hopefully someone knows... 'cuz if not i'll end up putting the damn thing in the glove compartment... haha...

the a/c and the blower motor could easily be wired to a switch, but the heat control is usually a cable connectted to either a flapper or a valve in the heater hose.

it's not that simple. Use some effort and take out your HVAC controls; remove the rear of the unit so you can see more of what you'll be dealing with.

I have taken it out and see the male/female connectors... I just didn't want to open it up and figure out I'm screwed.

I know I can power:
1)on/off the ac unit -
2)power the fan
[possible controll speeds for lo-med-high using a dial switch]

Using basic wiring and switches, the only main concern was the switch for the How Hot/Cold... not sure if it's just a switch/relay or if it's a computer....

Unless what dude said about the Cable controll? If so I'm sure I could relocate/adjust it to fit somewhere else....

I don't really need a heater, I live in Las Vegas... but obviously A/C is required!!!...

If anything... I'll probably just end up finding the wires to the A/c Fan... the A/C Unit... putting them to individual switches and put the thing on perminant cold and forget about it.

the cable for the haeater watercock is connected to a motor under the dash near the gas pedal. When you choose any level of 'heat' it opens up the watercock under the hood. You can probably disconnect this for your idea.
