I appologise for bring back an older post but it is a review thread. I purchased a Version 1 C's Short Shifter off the forums for a fair deal of $180.00 shipped with a Tomei Shift ****. I believe the construction & throw is better then the B&M and also with the V1 you get absolutely no buzzing at High RPM's. I put C's one step above B&M. When I saw the shifter I did attempted to do some research but came up with very little, I did not know they had a website, nor did I know the RPS13 Shifter retails at $400.00, and that is the V2 also!!!

I have a C's... but I think I installed the sucker wrong... It pops out sometimes when I floor it on a straightaway at WOT. Anyone with a C's shifter can help me go over what I might have missed? I know for a fact that thing should not just flat out pop out like that...

i bought the fidanza one when it came out
didnt like how sloppy the shifting was
so by the looks of the B&M kit id say go with that one
and mine did pop out of gear to until i figured out that you have to remove the lower plastic piece with the two pegs in it

When it comes to the FS5W71C transmissions and I am buying from an Ebay dealer I will only buy genuine B&M,fidanza,OBX, or Megan products (through sellers with high rating of 98% or better rating), especially the short throw shifters. They come with all the parts required to put your short throw shifter together and I would trust those brands only. Most other brands are real iffy when it comes to getting all the necessary hardware, and sometimes some of the parts from other companies look cheezy (especially from the ebay dealers).
When I have the transmission company rebuild my transmission I plan on using the Fidanza brand, I've felt the shifter in my friends cars and it isn't bad at all for the price you pay on ebay. Just make sure it is a REAL FIDANZA, there are copy cat, knock offs out there that claim they are selling fidanza's, if it doesn't look like the one in this pic (look at the top of shift ****), it isn't a FIDANZA.

I would buy a B&M, but for a short throw shifter I think there a little pricey for my blood.

Quick release hubs aren't vehicle specific, the steering wheel hub that they mount onto are though, so you will need to get a MOMO, HKB, Works Bell, or other steering wheel hub to mount the quick release to. Just make sure you get everything in the same bolt pattern (I say this because most are 6 bolt, but others like Grant are 5 bolt).

NRG makes the steering wheel hub as well, you can find them on that web site too, their about 90 bux or so... Heres the link to those:

http://www.istoreparts.com/quick-rel...x-p-18442.html

They charge a lil over 100 for it and I went ahead and kept looking and found them cheaper at this site, same thing but for 5 bux cheaper:

http://store.racinglab.com/nrg-short-hub-140-01.html

I had a site before that sole the whole thing as a combo, quick release, steering hub and steering hub lock for 200 something. I dunno why I deleted that one off my favs...

Yes one of you may slap me now.

BTW... why do most of u like the shifter shorter? for a short throw shifter i actually like it long, more leverage...depending. Actually on my short shifter (meagan version 2, the black one exactly like the b&m) I just have a heavier shift ****...
