short shifters
just wondering what brands of short shifters you guys/gals have good experience with. browsing ebay and came across a couple of inticing ones.
just wondering, but for mr2s, people discovered that there was an ebay b & m replica that was exactly the same with very good fit and finish at just a fraction of the price; twenty bux or something. wondering if anybody had any experience with these replicas.

DONT BUY THE EBAY SHIFTER. it sucks ***. the throw is nice and short and solid. But the plastic piece on the pivot ball breaks really easilly. Thats what happened to me so i just switched back to the stock shifter. I want to try the nismo shifter, its called a "solid shifter" so im assuming the throw is the same, but feels nice and solid. Otherwise C's and B&M make the best one. If you get B&M, make sure you get the "version 2" because this ones come with NO **** on it.

yeah so i've heard. i have another question though, for the C's, does the model count? i saw a C's on ebay for pretty cheap. it's used and the seller says that it's an older model. he said you could tell by the mounting bolts or something. claims that there is no difference in performance or durability in older or newer models. is this true?
damn, thought 240s could luck out like mr2s and get cheapo shifters that work just as well as b & ms...

BTW - B&M version 2 isn't better because of no **** - it's claimed to be better because of "no buzz" at 4000rpm+... although some people still say it does. I wonder if those people are using universal "screw-on" shift ***** instead of threaded ones.

for those of you guys who have short shifters, do you guys experience grinding or rough shifts often? i was told that short shifters are bad for you syncros, yet everybody still has them and there seems to be no cases where people mess their syncros up. anybody with personal experiences or tips?

I have a OBX shifter. It works nicely. Never had a problem with it. Actually I just test drove another 240sx with an OBX shifter in it too. It felt just as smooth as mine and it's most definetly a shorter throw.
