I helped a friend of mine install the B&M, and it wasn't that hard, he had a hard time just cuz he has BallPark hot dog fingers (which is where i came in) but its not that hard. The only problem he has is that it sticks in third, but that's because he shifts weird. That and he has problems with the clutch plates, he needs to replace them. I agree with the Nismo clutch, it feels just like the stock one, I know someone that put it in and didn't like it. I'm putting in the order for my new flywheel and short shifter.

Is nismo short shifter really that bad, because ive heard good things about it. But i also heard that the B&M isnt that good because it rattles, the shifts are nice and short but the rattling sucks. so i dont know which one to get, Nismo or B&M?

thanx for your imput

The nismo solid shifter is fine, but its not any shorter then stock. Works great thought.

If you think about it the fake knock offs on Ebay are a bullshiat deal. $500+$200 for shipping total $700 for seats that ride too high in the s13.

Genuine NISMO for the pair $1500, Plus $200 shipping. But they will fit the s13 very easily.

The fake imitations on ebay labelled NISMO, are the same seats that they sell at Pep Boys for $170 each, you can do the math.
Thought I would add my 2 cents......

well if the nismo short shifter isnt any shorter than stock... then whats the purpose of getting it. I mean the whole point of short shifter is to have shorter shifts. if thats the case, im not getting a Nismo one, screw that i want a short shifter that is going to have hella short shifts.

I don't like the shifter to be short, I think of it as taking part of my manliness away.. so anyways.. I like the length of the stock shifter and if the nismo solid shifter is the same length, do they throw relatively smooth? I hate it when it catches in gears.

It sticks a little bit from 1st-2nd gear in every M/T I've been in. Maybe its the way I shift or something.

I don't know about you guys, but I love throwing my arms around hah it makes me feel like Im doing something

I realize this is an old thread, but I'm trying to revive it by asking a few questions:

1) The Nismo Solid shifter; does SOLID in this case mean that you won't miss gears as easily, or that the shifts won't be as sloppy?

2) C's short shifter, how does this compare to the B&M shifter? Does this also rattle at high RPM's?

3) Any other reputable short shifters that anyone can recommend? Thanks.

Nismo is a better feel when shifting, its more direct.

C's and B&M you cant really compare. C's is short but B&M feels more solid that C's.

No.

Oh, awesome--thanks. One more thing--do you have to replace the "housing" or whatever with the Nismo shifter? I'm thinking about getting this, because I'm not too concerned with short throws, just the solidness of the shift itself.

Thanks again.

I don't think the Nismo replaces the shifter plate, someone can correct me if I'm wrong
