That's why I always thought "heat shields" by injen were a big gimmick.
I wish i had a picture of a 240sx engine bay scanning heat at various speeds. somebody find one.

Heat shields are a huge gimmick. Do people really think that a piece of metal will change the temprature of air within the engine bay before reaching the intake...........HAHAHA...... For those of you that did ever invest, or if I see you with one at the car shows I will point at your ride and laugh, then I will say what a MORON.
The only item that will truely keep hot air from entering your filter within the engine bay is your stock OEM induction box.

did u buy the pro gt wheel for GT4?
Mmmm lol the intake in nice but having trouble putting the heat shield around it to block water. I had a little accident trhought a corner and my bottom cover protecting the engine is gone thats why u got the air intake heat sheild to block water...any suggestions for a better way to keep it in?

this might of been mentioned in the 2 pages i didnt read but oh well ull get over it.. to all those mention dyno number from companys.. most of there number are to the crank.. and some arent.. and truthfully by removing the stock air intake u might not gain alot of peak hp but it improves ur power band and increases air velociety speed by removing restrictions and baffles (ripple rubber intakes that are common on stock cars).also the aluminum deisperses heat better than rubber colling the air more than with a rubber unit..it also usually improves throttle responce (usually only with short ram).. this is my feeling on this subject...

Guys (and gals) I think I've pointed this out before, but I'll point it out again FYI - realize that air filters, headers, and exhaust do not add horsepower. All they do is free up some lost HP due to the stock restrictive systems that were designed more for quietness and smog issues. I think Vinnie pointed it out that the engine is basically an air pump, and obviously the more air you can get in and out of an engine, the more HP the engine can generate.

Looking at all the gauges on your ride I would of expected more....LOL
I'm just playin with ya..... I really like your s14, it's big pimpin'...
510 motorsports or Rebello racing will handle the dyno for me......
After all I am a noob when it comes to the APEXI......
Believe me reading the manual becomes very confusing........LOL
With the tough pirates I know one of your boy's has an APEXI SAFC on board...
They do after all make crank HP instead of degredation corection at the wheels........
Can anyone say Honda H22 TB and CA18det fuel injectors........
