Randy, I just got back from the dealer and ordered that exact part for my 95 240sx. It broke last night, luckily I made it back into my driveway where my car sits right now until the part comes in. It is a special order part, it comes with the rod and the U-shaped part together. Here is the part #, etc

30631-40F02 ROD ASSY $10.79 list...I paid $9.17

Does anyone know how hard it is to replace this part? Does the rod just slip out of the dust boot at the firewall? Thanks!

Randy, I took the U-shaped piece to a welder and he welded it back together. Good as new, and I have a spare on order just in case.

lol , thanks for the help guys . i went to the dealer and got the part for 15 bux. pretty much worth it. the installation took me a while. while i was at it...i also adjust my clutch pedal. the first time this part broke on me i took it to the shop and got that part welded. it didnt perform as good coz it felt like it was scraping something when you press down and let go. i had to drive it like that for some time and it eventually broke again. oh well. everything works good now so im happy. thx for the help

Did you replace the rod with the part or just the U-shaped thingy? If you did the rod too, did you have to bleed the clutch to put it on?

i just replaced the U-shaped thing. no...u dont have to bleed the clutch. pretty easy install...it just takes a while..then after that you have to adjust your clutch pedal again .
