lol you can make alot more then 490hp with a SR if that was maxed out the engine would be junk max ive seen on an SR was like 1200hp but it was a drag set up you see alot of 500-600 whp SR at D1 all the time and some not even in nissans ahem Miata's.. Corolla's...

The SR is a great motor but i do agree the KA is greatly underestimated they are both great motors with alot of potential i respect them both. (well atm i hate my ka cause its not boosted and my SR is sitting on a tire in my garage)

Lets be honest--with the right parts ANY engine can make up to 490hp and above.

My tuner is also running KA-T, and he's doing 400whp on his street setup, EASILY. He ups the boost substantially when he's doing drag, but I've never actually seen the graph for it.

An engine is going to be as good as it's weakest link. If you want to see high horsepower KA-Ts, then just go to KA-T.org, they have lots of high horse power KA's.

Not saying that SR isn't good, but to base an opinion off something you've read in a "tuner" magazine and passing it on as a credible reference isn't something that I can support. Not trying to be a jerk or anything, just saying.

Like I said before; good luck with whatever you want to do, regardless, we're here to help.
