Mountain driving? Very very dangerous. At any time, you could hit a deer, hit an oncoming car, slide off the road, fall into a canyon, hit a mountain wall, or all of the above in a split second. I've read people's tragic experiences as well as being exposed to firsthand consequences at the scene. Chances of cars getting totalled, people getting rushed to the hospital, and people getting killed are high. And when the car gets phucked up and people are bleeding, it will take some time for emergency units to arrive since mountain roads are in the middle of nowhere. It is not worth the regret. Remember, Initial D is a cartoon. It can defy physics and reality.

Drifting? Wear a helmet, take it to the track. Same goes for grip racing. How dangerous it is vastly depends on the environment.

Yes you have to be a professional or an experienced drifter to use drifting to compete with other cars. And to get to that status, it often involves experience in controlling your car, which often means crashing you car at one point or another (trial and error). Being a serious expert does not come without a cost.

You cannot learn to drift from a video game. Just like you cannot learn to drive from a video game. In drifting, the front wheels direct the car in the direction of the turn, while the rear wheels have little to no traction, causing the rear to slide with the speed of the car. Losing traction is initiated by causing an imbalance in speed of rear wheels to front wheels (downshifting?). It's hard to explain in words, especially since I don't drift (i've just seen many many videos), but its something like that.

All I have to say is grip is much faster than drifting.

i second that "BE SAFE".

Another thing: jkfreshdaddy, if you ever decide to go mountain driving with the intent of drifting or driving over the speed limit, give us the heads up so we stay away from any mountain roads. No offense, just watching for the safety of us and our cars. Too many accidents have happened due to inexperienced, ignorant drivers.

I don't plan to do anything remotely dangerous in a car, as tight as they are i could think of a million better things to do with my time. Im just a very curious guy and lately i saw intial d and played gt3 which sparked my interest mainly around the physics of driving.

I went drag racing one time, gayest experience ever. Friend set me up with his ss i was thinking god this has to be the tighest experience ever. Squealed so lound took of straight line in like 15 seconds or less it was over, lol i was like thats it i could get a 1500 fine for this boring a*s sh*t lol

you dont have to worry, but thanks for the heads up you no

Yeah i'll bet Initial D and GT3 gets ya pumped up. Trust me, i honestly know the feeling. Just dont use it as your inspiration to drive like that. Be smart and practical. If you want to drive competitively, get proper instruction.
