I call BULL! You can still pick up a great running Nissan D21 Hardbody Pick-Up, that will wayy outperform anything "Found on road dead" Ranger...*gag*

gonna have to agree. i worked with a guy who owned a 05 ranger iirc that had something fail on it just about every other week. i've always been a fan of mopar when it comes to domestics although they all have there fair share of great cars in the late 60's to about mid 70's.

I was totally against the purchase:
1) it was an auto: auto = laziness
2)it had manual windows
3)only a radio not even a cassette deck or cd player
4) its to difficult to work on. for god's sake the air filter is buried by an a/c hardline!
but they found it in pretty great condition for only $5k, the nissan hardbodies they found were either in bad shape or much higher. they wanted a cheap pickup because we expect my bro to wreck it, so don't want to lose to much.
I was trying to push them into buying a manual hardbody, but my brother *****ed about its too difficult to learn stick and there is no reason he should learn.

I totally agree too. The worst problems that the SOHC or DOHC KA's have at high mileage is the replacement of the timing chain assembly or components.
For the resale value compared to toyota pick ups Nissan's are the biggest bang for your buck, they run for ever. I recked my old hardbody truck 3 times and it still ran like a champ, even with the old NAPS-z motor in it.
