new s14 owner in NY

hey guys whats up, i just bought my s14 about 2 weeks ago, its a automatic but thats what i was looking for, cause im cheap i was looking for a 240 that was auto that had tranny problems cause one of the things im doing is a tranny swap

i have everything for the swap other than the tranny, crossmember, driveshaft, clutch and slave cyl.

right now im working on replacing the things that are wrong with it and returning everything back to stock....a crappy alarm system is the reason i think it doesnt start, needs fenders, i am in the process of replacing springs/ struts and i stripped the interior for thorough cleaning.

here are a few pictures of the car, ill post some progress pics later (gotta transfer off my phone)

plans are to get the outside of the car back to normal (have to tighten/dry and re-seal tail lights, replace corner lights, fenders, there is the tinyest rust spots on the quaters on the edges, headlights and paint

then i am doing the 5speed swap with a vlsd, ill prob weld the stock one for temp.

probibly in a few months ill be taking out a loan for a computer, but instead of getting the computer ill prob. put some 18''s on it and the vlsd and coilovers

You should put the chips in a bag and give them back to the guy

By reading through the thread it seems that you really dont like the dude you bought it from.

I hear you man, I have bought cars in the past where people could care less about the vehicle but as long as it takes there lazy *** from point a to point b then that is the only thing they worry about. How black was the oil in the car? Glad to hear that the car is running man, the alarm looked terrible from the pics in your other thread. How long before you think you will have the tranny and have it installed in the car?

So... why are you going to weld the diff? Planning on doing anything with it motor sports wise or just screw around on the streets? From the looks of it, looks like you're just trying to make it look good and have occasional street drifts.

QFT! A welded diff is a bad idea, anyway you slice it, but I won't get back into that conversation because I've already proven my point before.

So what ARE your plans for the car?

cornering with a welded diff is 100 times worse then cornering with an open diff and atleast an open diff wont kill you or your car
