My first 240 (pics inside)

I may look into the OBX unit a little more. I was going to go with a Z32 swap and use early J30 axles to be able to retain the stronger 5-bolt output shafts but I may look into going with this until I am able to make the power that will require me to use the stronger output shafts. For the price of a Z32 LSD and J30 axles I would be looking at near the price of the OBX and the OBX is new. eBay has them for $375.00+$22.00 shipping. BigVinnie hurry up and get that LSD in and let us know how it is.

So... it's been a few weeks since I was last able to pay attention to my 240. I do have decent excuses though. Since I am able to really only work on my car on the weekends, I was unable this past weekend b/c of a much needed beach vacation. The weekend before that one I, like many others, was at VIR having a blast. Now it's time to get back to work. I noticed my battery light coming on really dim while driving to work last week so I ordered a reman. alt. to replace the OEM 200K mile old one. I will be replacing the old rotted out belts too since now will be as good of a time as any. I also finally got the homemade motor mounts made and will be installing them the same day hopefully. I may even take a stab at tinting a few of my windows if it doesn't rain. I'll be posting pics and results this weekend.

If anything KA-T when the stocker blows up but who knows when that will happen. I'm just trying to get the car back in good shape inside and out a little bit at a time. Unfortunantly most of my car money is going to my STi over the winter. Since it's not the DD any more i'm going to try to hit 400whp by next summer. Most of the things the 240 is going to need I can do myself. The most expensive part i'll probably have to worry about is finding a decent set of affordable seats that aren't eBay brand, but that's a way down the road. Right now it's fixing broken stuff and doing cheap but tasteful mods.

I replaced the alternator yesterday before F1 qualifying and did the mounts after. The mounts gave me a little trouble b/c the holes in the frame and engine brackets were too small and my 1/2" threaded rod I used proved to be too big. Luckily I was able to open the holes up a little with my dremel but I went through bits in seconds so it was pretty time comsuming changing them all the time. Driving the car with the new mounts you could definitly tell the difference. Vibrations were not that bad at all around 3K and above but were bad enough to shake the fillings out of your teeth at 2200-2700. This made 5th gear 40-50mph driving a little tough. I have a few ideas of how I might be able to aleviate that though. For now though, the tighter feel is nice and my battery light not coming on anymore is great too.

I got a little work done to the car this weekend. I installed and hard wired a cheap radar detector I had laying around. I also made a few attempts to tint my front windows. I used some Gila 80% tint from Advance Auto and actually did a pretty nice job my second try. The only problem is I started late and ran out of day light and tint but it's only $10 a roll and even if I use 5 rolls it'll still be way cheaper than the $185 that it would cost me to get it professionally done. Finally, i'm planning to pick up a few large rubber washers I found at Lowes in the nut/bolt bins that I think I can put between the frame and motor mount to kill a little of the harshness. The mounts did settle some so it's a little better but I think I can have a near stock feel with these and still retain the benefits. I'll post picks tomorrow when I have a little more day light.
UPDATE!!! Here are the pics.
Tint...
Radar and hardwire pic...
Vibration killers... or so I hope.
