I'd like to introduce myself
Hello all.
I just purchased my first 240sx, and it's also my first Nissan as well.
It's a 1990 240sx 5 speed manual that's pretty much bone stock save for new 17" rims and a new CD-Player and speakers.
I got the vehicle for $2800 which, at least where I live, is a damn good price. The paint job isn't the greatest and little things but I think I got a pretty good deal.
The girl I bought it from also got a NISMO body kit for it which I'm gonn try to buy off of her for $300 in a month when I build my revenue back up.
Now a little about me. I live in So. Cal in the Santa Barbara area. My last car was a 1985 zenki corolla SR-5 with the stock 70bhp 4A-C engine so naturally this car feels like a Ferrari compared to what I'm used to. I'm good with cars and engines in general (I've been working on bikes since I was 14 and riding them since I was 7. I've been attracted to the allure of the Internal Combustion for as long as I can remember.
This may be my first Nissan, but I've been working on a 1977 280z with my Dad for the last year an a half, so I'm gonna hope that Nissan does things somewhat the same way.
I'm gonna go with the stock SOHC KA24E for now, and if I decide to swap the motor in the future I'll prolly go with the DOHC KA24DE. I've done some reading and as far as I can tell it's a strong motor with an abundant supply of parts.
I'll try and post up some pics of it this weekend after I smog it and do the oil change. Any advice and/or criticisms are welcome.
And to stop it in advance I read the forum rules and the 2 stickies on the top of this page.
