Lightbulb how to take the tar out of my 1990 240SX

i just bought a 1990 240SX and i've decided to strip it. after taking all the carpet and plastic paneling and back seats out i began my attempt to take out the tar. well i figured out, that it was easier said than done.

is there an easy method to taking the tar out, or am i just screwed either way.

buy dry ice, let sit on tar for 15 mins., smack with hammer. - you still have to sand out the last bits of tar.
