It all depends on the course. If you need a hell of a lot of top end for a straight at Nur, than your going to have to space out your tranny to achieve the highest possible speed in that straight, however if you have a really small course where there is no need or time to build up to that kind of speed you would just want to have a close tranny in order to accelerate as quickly as possible.

I hope this guide has helped any GT fan that has or hasn't bought GT4 yet. The
hardest part to play in this game has got to be the license test. Without
getting gold I wouldn't be able to post the prize for all gold for all
licenses. Please do let me know if there are any error, I will give you credit
for it. Finally, I would like to thank all my friends who helped me out on
this guide, and Polyphony Digital and SCEI for creating this awesome game.

It rocks that you took the time not only to complete the game but to detail all of the cars that you win as well.
My only question is with the liscense tests. You only get one shot at them right? So you actually had to start the game over to find out the all silver and what not? Or can you actually retake the test until you get all golds. Because I didn't realize that you could only have one shot at them until now. And even though I'm not THAT far in the game I still don't want to have to retrace my steps. The only thing that i'm happy to say is that I have only completed the first liscense test. So like I don't think I'm missing out much on getting the honda.

if you look on the internet thier are alot of places with that list. maybe but i doubt he already beat the game. raine is probably farther than any of us..lol..raine IS a gt4 *****..lol
