Buying a 240SX :-)
I'm in the process of buying a red 1991 240SX hatchback with Super HICAS (just another something to brake? Something to fix/improve then ;-) I'm paying $3.5k for it--on the high-side, I know, but finding an S13 with "nice features" and in decent shape... I'm not super-mechanical and installing ABS in a non-ABS sounds alittle above me.
This will be "my" first car. Sure, I've had cars before (kinda :-), but they weren't "mine".
It has 120k miles on it and I am still learning to drive a stick--still the beginning stages. Hopefully by the time I fry the transmission I'll have enough money to buy a complete RB25DET engine swap :-)
[Anyone with good dyno charts on pretty much stock engines? I'm interested in their power curves--from what little I've seen (read) the RB20DET reaches peak torque too early.]
One of the first things I'll want to do (besides replacing fluids, plugs and other needed general maint.) is change worn bushings and change/remake the suspension (new shocks/struts/springs/whatever). Unfortunately, after a fair amount of searching, I can't find any rear shocks for Super HICAS--anyone have any suggestions?
I want to lower the car slightly (no point doing all this work and then wishing I did it different). I am looking at lowering the car _slightly_ (.5 to 1.5in) in order to improve handling--once again, open to suggestions :-)
Well, that pretty much somes it up. Kinda detailed. Too much so? Oh, well, venting felt good.

HICAS is basically Nissans version of 4wheel assisted turning (think prelude 4wd) if you plan on drifting this will be a major hinderance in being able to loosen the rear end. I'm not sure where you could get some rear shocks for the car but I'm sure someone else on here does.
hope that helped and welcome
