another noobie

just thought i'd say hi to everyone on here real quick...
my name is Cody and i've got a 2000 celica GTS but am hoping to sell it and find a S14 before too long and drop an sr20det in as well as doing a s15 front end conversion (plus suspension, wheels, etc.). if anyone might be interested in my celi or has a 95 SE 5-speed for sale, let me know. thanks, and i look forward to learning even more about these cars and hopefully becoming a part of the community before too long.

oh, and here's a few shots of the celi if anyone's interested:

Hey man, I usually don't like celicas, but you have a pretty sweet setup there. You could easily sell that, buy an S14, swap the engine and still have money left over.

You no like your fwd celica anymore?

Also, if you are planning to do a swap, you could settle with getting an auto, because the tranny will also get swapped...well, that is if you find a clip that includes the transmission...not all of them do.

very nice celica.. glad to see you have at least a GTS... welcome to the boards... just find a nice 97-98 240 in a color you like and the transmission with an sr20 clip and you will be good to go

hey, thanks for the welcome and compliments everyone!
yea, i am pretty tired of FWD and having basically no power potentail in the long run with this car, so that's why i'm looking to 240's. and yea, i could probably deal with an auto but i might be playing around with the KA for a few months just getting the feel of RWD back down (used to drive my dad's miata a good bit but that's been a couple of years, so i wouldn't mind playing around with it for a little while) and don't wanna have to put up with an auto for that time. oh, and i wouldn't mind one of the 97-98's either but i've heard that the 95's having OBDI are easier to work with, plus the fact that they're a good bit cheaper is nice too. i'm also planning on doing the s15 front end conversion eventually as well. hopefully i can find something good before too long though and get all this stuff happening, i'll be sure to keep everyone updated with details.

i missed the part about a s15 front end.. then i would defiantly go with a 95-96, another good thing is that they are easier to find in MT
