rb20 mafs?

- would an n60 maf be a good choice of mafs for a stock rb20? - we are having a prob. because it has a walbro 255 and no FPR. it runs really rich and i'm wondering if the n60 will help lean it out. BTW already have safc, but still runs rich.

The n60 is a maxima maf, and is an upgrade from the stock j60. Just compensate with an safc.

from what i herd from other forums.. the n60 should not be in use without any sort of engine magment or ecu tune.. I am learning the hard way now. : (

cuz i did at first use an n60 mafs when i first got my swap running but now learning the hard way the swap doesn't run at all now or start. : (

i did too think the n60 and stock rb20 were the same but from what i herd from other forums the n60's need a tune just like if u were to use the 300zx mafs.

U have a FPR. the Rb motors run naturally a little rich. you'll espically notice if there's not cat. I ran a Walbro 255, stock maf, and stock fpr fine. I personally rather run a tad rich then lean. My 02cents, dont mess with the SAFC. the stock ecu does a good job when ur motor is stock. there's really no reason to mess with the fuel.

i'd just go back to the rb maf. like i said there's no reason to mess with all the fuel. If u need a maf I got a stock rb one with a M's intake filter i'd sale. If u were going to get that maf to work. you have to hard wire the SAFC into the ecu and hook up a wideband exhaust sensor. to add or subtract fuel.

there really is no need for any of those mafs. The stock RB20 does its job fine. I dont understand why ya'll are putting different mafs in on a stock motor, when the maf that came with it does fine. a stock RB doesn't need a SAFCII at all.

I've never heard of putting that maf on the rb. But if they are the exact same thing then u shouldn't need a SAFC to correct anything. but i can't tell u that it will work perfectly.

J60 - direct replacement oem rb20 maf - plugs into factory connector, works perfect

N60 - from a maxima, can read more air - has different voltage readings for different air readings - thus why an safc is needed to adjust values, which the computer reads

J60 is perfect for a stock/bolt on swap.

Don't evel fool with the n60, go to an n62 300zxtt maf, it will read even more and must be used with an safc, but usually at the time, u upgrade to major mods.
