Decisions, decisions, decisions

yeh, I was talkin to a guy who has both a 240SX and RSX. he said SR20 will be more reliable than KA24-T. then again it will depend on what year 240SX I get (if a 240 at all)
I'll go on saturday to check out that place.
thanks for the advice guys.

up to now I still have not been able to see those 240SX's.
in the time however I did test drive a RSX-S, mazda 3 and 6, and just today a rabbit.
basically RSX-S > rabbit > the mazdas. still want to test drive a scion TC.
but ehh, RSX is really the only thing I'd be happy with other than the 240SX. performed way better than the mazdas or the rabbit despite the lack of torque, you really dont notice it. just so dam expensive.

I would recommend staying away from salvaged cars, PITA if you dont know what happened to them and how they were repaired. I know since I used to do body work. And a lot of guys will use short cuts to make a quick sale.
Had you said you were looking for an S14, I woulda sold you mine. 5K plus shipping LOL, but the car ran like a champ, also just had the water pump, radiator, fan clutch and fan changed out... all you needed to do was get the stupid upper timing chain guide removed and youre good to go.
But if you want reliability, especially long term. Find something newer in years, the RSX would be the best option. Theyre quick too, my buddy had a in-car cam at the last SJGP in the road racing series, this RSX kept pulling away from his E36 at every turn. Straights were a different story, but to be honest, if youre looking for a good car with decent handling, RSX is a good bet for a newer car. 240's require a good amount of TLC since they are 10-20 year old cars.
How much are you looking to spend?

thanks for the advice bro. I was hoping for a 2005-2006 RSX-S, but thats not gonna happen with decent mileage or anything, hard to find one in the budget.
its basically 15K. on a new car say like a rabbit, mazda 3 or certified pre owned RSX it cud go up another 2K.
parents aren't willing to get me a old car that cud break down and in the end cost more than a newer one, so basically kouki just made it to consideration.
plus I only have 3.5K saved so its not like I can get whatever I want. even if I were to get a cheap pignose, I cant afford insurance when I'm out of a job.

My advice: Get yourself a nice little 2002-2003 Honda Civic. Save your money at the gas pumps and after you get a decent paying job, you can afford a toy, right now you just need something reliable to get you from point A to point B.

PFFFT! As long as its not driven in the areas where you've been! Those ppl on your roads are nut jobs! LOL I kid, I kid.
But yeah, you want something that will get you from point A to point B with the lowest fuel consumption possible, but I know you would want something more fun to drive. A base model RSX is still good enough, great mileage and will last you a while. Cheaper too, but its just an option to look at.
I got my family car, but I still want like an S2K or something more sporty still to commute to work. The GS is killing me on mileage, need to fill her up already. =(
