2008 Chicago Auto Show (ZR1 and GTR in the same building!) Lots of pics!
Went to the 100th Chicago Auto Show yesterday and took over 100 pictures, so 56k (does anybody even use dial up anymore) you can see yourself out.
Hello Genesis Coupe. This was the first thing I went to look at, and listening to the company representatives talk about the Genesis platform, (as well as reps at other exhibits from GM, etc) RWD is definately the big thing right now on automakers' agendas.
The Genesis Sedan. I was surprisingly unimpressed, it looks old already.
One of the GMC display trucks was hauling an Impala.
Buick Riviera, sweet gull wing doors.
GMC Denali XT, the guy that was talking about it said it's built on the Zeta platform. (I think something similar to this may be already out or at least green lighted in Australia)
YUMMMM Pontiac G8.... pure hotness. Another Zeta platofrm vehicle. The taillights on this car were also my favorite out of all the cars there.
I know you've all seen it before, the Solistice. I LOVE how it feels just to sit in this car, the way the seat is you feel part of the machine.
Corvette ZR1. Pure hotness. This drew a lot of attention.
15.5 inch Carbon Ceramic Brakes. Thats right, its brakes are bigger than some of you guys' wheels.
Sweet structural cutaway.
Cutaway LS9. Somebody swap THAT into a 240.
Bumblebee
Tiny Chevys
Saab Aero X
The post-apocolyptic Hummer HX
CTS Coupe, the guy in the black suit claims its in production (but not on sale yet)
40th anniversary Shelby Mustang
BMW's past and present
M3 Coupe
1 series Coupe and Convertible
Audi R8..... so sexy.
Some Lotus Elises, some Lambos and a Vanquish
Rolls Royce. These cars are beyond massive.
My boy Kevin Harvick's Impala.
The Dodge ride.
Hemi Challenger SRT 8s
A horribly ugly Dodge concept car who's name escapes me (voyager?)
Chrysler Town and Country Blackjack (poker table in back)
300C Hollywood (Targa Top and Suicide Doors)
Some Jeep concept with rebel flag tail lights.
By far the biggest crowd drawing car at the show. Nissan GTR.
Who else has been this close to it??? Hmmmm???
My logical next step
The ugly carp-like CRZ, obviously inspired by the CRX.
S2000 Club Racer
WTF Yaris
Bullitt
Never heard of or seen these before. The "YES!" car company, from Germany. If you cant read that it says 255hp and 330 Newton Meters of torque.
Scion display.
Mistubishi bringing the best they have to offer.
Mitsubishi RA.
There was more at the show, but in 5 hours i didnt get to see everything and had to go because I had to catch a train.

i don't get the retro/futuristic blend of the new car designs. imo mid 80's to early 90's were when the cars reached their peak as far as looks go for modern cars anyway.
the 50's classics and 70's muscle cars though are the ones i really like.

i have to disagree cause i think the peak was mid to late 90's for japanese cars atleast s14 kouki s15 and R34 = dopesauce
#11
i agree about japanese cars, i was referring to american cars though i should have clarified. however, i still think that the s13>>>>s14 and s13=s15. but that's just me so feel free do disagree.

You should see the GTR in person, it has no presence. It looks like a glob of the good attributes of every other idolistic car, absolutely doesn't have presence of the r34 even because at least that car's hard lines were agressive as ****.
