Swap motors and now it wont start!?

Okay I had a ka24de in my s14 w/205,000 miles and so I bought a ka24de with much less miles. I put the motor in and put the #1 cylinder at TDC and aligned the distributor and the motor wont start?!? It cranks over but it wont start? any suggestions, I have 2 distributors and both of them do the same thing no matter what.

have you verified that you are getting fuel and spark?

Or that the engine actually had compression and ran before you swapped it? Don forget the old spark and fuel like concsptS14 said too. Find out which one you dont have, and run the codes while youre at it.

Thanks for your input guys but I got it to start. I thought I was at top dead center when I installed my distributor but I wasn't. Here is a helpfull tip.... when going for TDC put a long extension in cylinder 1 and when it reaches the top check your timing marks on your crank pulley and make sure your at 0 digress then put your distributor on the first spark before installing. MY new motor runs like a champ but now I have overheating problems, that a new thread if I cant figure it out.

Make sure you bled it real good. You might have to jack up the front of the car.
