oil for ka24e
My car has about 130,000miles and its a n/a sohc.
I dont have the fsm rite now, so i need to know how much oil i need to put in, and wat weight it should be.
Also, wat do you guys recommend for a car with my mileage...synthetic? synthetic blend? regular?

i use royal purple 5w30 or 10w30, 4 qts will fill it up. never gets to cold in LA so i dont really know what weight your should use since its colder in NJ. at least use something synthetic if your dont wanna pay $6 a qt.

Most 4 cylinder engines will use about 4 quarts of motor oil. I use Royal Purple in my SOHC, just beware if you are switching from regular to full synthetic, you may develop leaks around your front and rear main seal and may need to replace them.

Engine oil with filter 3 3/4 quarts
for your car because of the high mileage i'd recomend castrol gtx

i use gtx high mileage and k&n oil filter simply because it has a bolt head design on the end of it so you can use a socket to break your oil filter loose def comes in handy.. i haven't have any problems with this setup.... but on my s13 i went a little over on my oil change and used a fram oil filter that plugged up on me and stopped filtering the oil and sent all dirty oil to my crank bearings first = spun rod bearing = me not a happy camper .... hope that helps some of you guys out.

With 130,000m I would switch to a petro such as castrol GTX in a 10w40, stay away from 5w30 and 10w30 with taht amount of miles on the engine. Heavier oil is better on the KA oil ring's with miles that excessive and it can actually bring your compression back up to par. If you have the additional money get the castrol syntec, if you don't want to change your oil till every 5,000m.
