what gauge are u speaking of? also, when you turn the key, does it make any noises, like a "click click click click click" or any clicks at all, or nothing?

if it makes a lot of clicks, the problem is with the alternator still, or maybe the battery, if there is only one or two clicks, or no noise, the starter is bad/dead...

well it does make the clickin' noise. i was talking about my stock gauge. i dont get any power from it till i rev up the engine. but i jump started it today let it charge up for about 10 minutes and discconnected the negative cable and the motor died out so could it be the alternator? i dont want to spend 200 bucks gettin a alternator from like pepboys or autozone. im somewhat still learning how to deal with a car by myself but under supervision but he's a honda freak and im a nissan freak... two different worlds!

by stock gauge do u mean the battery level gauge?? im in thew blue as to what gauge ur talkin about, but if it makes a repeated clicking noise, it means the starter is getting power, but the alternator is not providing enough juice to start her up...

if u havent already, try jumping it, letting it charge for like 10 mins as you did, but instead, just shut the car off, and try to start it again...if it doesnt start then it is mos def the alternator...

dude, one word, voltmeter.

Check yoru battery, should read 12.6, and with the car on the battery should read ~13.6, and if it read less than 13.3 then your alternator is bad. Check your ground wire too.

hey check your fuses too, cause you altenator just like everything thing else runs through a fuse, if its popped then your altenator wont even get power to your battery! But totally check you amps, take it to an autozone and they check you stuff for free. I hate them, but you cant beat free!!

"drained like a mother". First thing that popped into my head (OK, well 2nd thing):

Unless you have four 12" subs pounding with the ignition on but the car off while you check the voltage readings, I'm betting that you have a short somewhere. If it's drainging "like a mother" then it's probably a bad short too.

Well my 95 was acting like the battery was dead and wasn't starting, everything was getting power but would just click for a little while, I just took out and rebuilt the starter and it works fine now.
