KA24DE head onto a KA24E block

I have a collapsed lifter on my KA24E and i was thinking about just swapping the head instead of messing with the valve train. And then i got the idea that i could just put a KA24DE head on it instead of the KA24E head. My question is will it fit? I mean is the bolt pattern different or will it just not work? I'm just trying to make this engine last until i have the finances to swap a SR20det into it.

Im moving this one to N/A and closing the other one, please dont double post. You could just ask a mod to move your post to the proper location if we dont see it.

yeah i already saw that thread. it looks like a bunch of wasted energy on moving parts. And honestly looks like it won't run. But i'm not a mechanic so i don't know what the hell i'm talking about. I don't see why he made all that extra mess. he could've just extented the chain and shaft(s) that holds the gear(s).

Go ahead and try it if ya want, but I would personally just do a full KA24DE swap

actually that setup does look pretty stable as long as the timing chain fits right. and with the compression he says it will have you should be able to crank some serious power out of it.

i heard a while back (i may be wrong) that if you put a "de" head on an "e" block or the other way around, that it will increase HP due to the compression ratio or somethin like that, is this true?
