they come with generic instructions...i am looking at a few different cars to git some information together for everyone... on the 3 that i have looked at 2 of mine and one of a friends 240 we all have the same fan plug... i am going to get pics tomorrow once i get everything out of the way to show you what it is im talking about... all 3 240's have the same plug in them to hook up an electric fan... like i said i will have pics and wire colors and location of where the wires come from so everyone can hook them up like mine = factory...

k i pulled the motor yesterday and have the battery out of the car... now you wont have to pull the motor but here is what you need to look for...
now i know my cam sux but the plug is a 2 wire plug grey in color with a rust color back... has a black and a rust colored wire that has a white stripe...this plug is in the wire harness that goes to the air conditioning dryer... in all of the cars i have checked 3 of them not a lot i know but in the 3 i have looked at the same plug was there attached under the fuse box next to the battery...my 2 cars had a fan pluged into it and my friends did not but it was the same plug and my second fan plugs right into it and worked...

ahh, I know this old... but can someone tell me where exactly to wire up the blue wire that comes off the fan... I grounded the Black wire, and I don't know where an Accessory 12v power is? ...
I tried hooking it to the ACC from my stereo, but it doesn't run at full speed, like if I hook it striaght to the battery.
btw, 91 240sx se... i'm using the stock electric fan
edit: I hooked it up in the fuse box to a 20Amp fuse... will that be enough power? it still doesn't sound like it's running as fast as it does when it's wired directly to the battery... I would hook it striaght to the battery, but I don't want to have a switch to turn on and off everytime I leave the car.

you should be praised for searching, not apolgizing for reviving dead threads...
as for your electrical issues... iHave no flippin clue about electrical stuff.
therefore, *bump*, despite the fact that you don`t really need it.

if you have power loss at the fan then one of 2 things are happening...
1: the wire gague going to the fan is too small... try a bigger gague wire... should help with the problem...
2: the accessory spot that you wired the fan uptoo cannot supply enough amprage to run the fan at full speed... try a different spot on the fuse box and bigger gague wire...
should have your fan up and running just fine...

do you know the amprage of the fan anyways? because i'm running it at 20A.. but I don't know if that good enough? ... car doesn't overheat though, i was driving around in 95 degree weather yesterday and it was fine.

i dont know the aprage of the fans... usually a 20 amp fuse is fine... just check it from time to time to see if it melts or gets too hot..
as far as overheating... if your fan moves enough cfm of air there should not be a problem with over heating... the fan you have if bought new it will have specs on how much cfm air it can move... if you are moving from 800 to 1000 cfm you should never overheat... lower than that you might have some problems with getting hot in stop and go traffic or when the outside temo gets hot...
