Crank Scraper and Windage Tray Arrived
Well the Pieces from Ishihara-Johnson Crank Scrapers arrived Today. I must say that it is Beefier and More Engineered than I thought, this ain't no cut piece of Sheet Metal here. I give Props to whomever fabbed up the Windage Tray looks like a lot of Time was spent on that. Instructions for the Scraper were very Detailed and came in Color but no Instructions for the Tray, but Hell It looks pretty Self Explanatory. Will be Posting Pics on the Install in the A.M.

Here is the Setup while I was Checking my Clearances. Now this isn't a Direct Bolt In affair, I had to Bolt and UnBolt the Scraper many times to make sure Crank End Play was in Spec. also to get rid of Interference because it did touch Rotating Assembly in some places. But some Grinding and Filing later everything is Kosher. DSM Meet today took all my Daylight so I'll finish Bolting it up Tommorrow. One note though, as you can see my Block is Out of the Engine Bay so Installation is fairly Simple. But according to the Instructions it can be Installed on the Car, that would be an Excercise in frustration if you ask me. Anyway I'm late for the Bar Crawl!

Damn Miked808 you beat me to the punch man..... Let me know how it revs and what the oil temp is like.... You should feel more donkeys on the but dyno, especially in higher RPM's.
Did you use any specific gauge to determine the clearance between scraper and crank?
I'm falling behind on my project. Looking for a new work truck, and just moved to a new town, shiat is crazy. Let me know how it goes down.....

There are Too many contact areas to use a Feeler Guage, like around Rod Bolts and the Contours around the Crank Counterweights so I just Eyeballed. I'll be lucky if I get this Project Finished in the next 3 weeks, so many little things tofinish.

here is a site that tell you about them
http://www.crank-scrapers.com/index.html
here is a bit from that site if you dont wanna know all of it.
What are some of the benefits?
·Less rotating mass for the engine to accelerate because of the removed oil
. Less loss of power because of excessive drag caused by the windage cloud
·Helps reduce engine damaging oil-foaming
·Helps avoid oil starvation by keeping the oil in the pan during hard braking and turning as well as during off-road driving
·Helps to cool critical engine parts by quickly returning heated oil to the sump
·Helps to prevent the cylinder walls from being overloaded with oil
· Can help with fuel efficiency
