Completly removing Egr?

ok months ago I installed my megan racing 2 piece headers right...But the egr threded end that goes into the header was way to small for tyhe header so I removed the tube...Would it be a bad idea to completly remope the whole system???

you don't need all that egr crap, unless your air cared, where i from we don't have air care yet. So as far your question. no you don't need any of it, as well as you pairc valve don't need that as well, i removed it all from mine and the car runs fine, the one thing that you will need is a egr block off plate

it would suck in air from your intake.. if you took off the EGR valve itself. What i did was i went to where my dad works, and traced out the pattern for a blockoff plate. I burned it out of 1/2" steel plate (correct thickness if you wanna reuse ur bolts)... then i took a grinder and knocked off the slag left over from burning it. I took it and drilled out the holes, and test fitted and ground out where necessary. Only took about an hour. Cleans up the engine bay like you wouldnt believe, and reduces your vaccum lines (after removing ALL emissions related items) down to 3 vacuum hoses. Ill post a pic of my engine bay soon to show how much better it looks.

ok awesome Cuz I just got my engine completyl redone I buiolt the bottom end and sent the head out to be redone and I got her running and stuff but an Egr flow malfunction code came up...But thats cuz I completly took off the tube and have an Open Egr valve goin.I heard taking off the egr is bad for your valves and having it open makes you run Lean.

... egr really shouldnt make it idle higher or overheat. Sounds like youve got a small vacuum leak.

Anyways, where the EGR valve bolts to your intake mani, take it off and youll see what needs to be done. Ill take pics if i pull my motor back out in time.
