Can 91-93 ecu be used with 96 ka24de?

I have a ka24de out of a 96 240sx that i'm going to swap into my 89 240sx. Can I use a 91-93 ecu in it?

As nissandrift said, early 95 ECUs were OBD1 and later 95 and up were OBD2.
