240 wont rev high enough 2500 max

anyways, my 90 240 hatch wont ****ing rev past 2500. anyone know why? holding in clutch will keep the car running, if i let go of it, it slowly turns off/stall on my ***. ****ty engine mounts cuz that dumb KA shakes like a ***** hard. friends of mine says it could be the maf or something. other than that, everything is good, im putting in cheapass new ngk spark plugs, gonna do oil change blah blah blah. but not being able to rev past 2500 is pissing me off.
thanks in advance

when you let out the clutch, do you push on the gas?

btw: be more specific with it's symptoms if you want some help.

i had the same problem a few months ago, and it was indeed the MAFS. I figured it out after hours of trying other things by just unplugging the MAFS if the motor still doesn't rev past 2500rpms then you know what it is. But it could also be a coolant temp sensor.

The fsm should give the voltage on the 3 wires, just get a voltmeter and test. I had the same problem but it was a burnt out pin on my ECU. I'm not sure if the voltage is the same on KA24e, but on DE it was 14.5 on power, ground 0.02, and output at idle should be around 1.2 volts.

If by "shakes" you mean the engine and the rest of the drive train seems to have a lot of "play" in it I would guess it is due to tired engine mounts.

My mounts are getting worn and I want to replace them, but I think I will wait until I swap to replace the mounts.

If you want new mounts the nismo ones which are better than stock can be had for like 300 bucks I believe.

And I answered a question you already knew the answer to, wow I am cool.
